Atmosphere
Who doesn’t want to transform into a small cute rodent and see the world differently? The Bistrot Chez Rémy restaurant in Disneyland Paris was an amazing experience. It had the wittiest and most entertaining atmosphere. You literally feel as if you’re a cute rat cousin of Rémy. The interior decor details were spot on from the logo of Gusteau on the chair to the vines on the ceiling. My favorite detail was the chair’s top and bottoms being bottle caps. Honestly, I can go on and on about the decor because the Disney Imagineers nailed it!
Food Review
I will preference this food review as my own opinion on my experience. If you feel differently about what my thoughts are, please let me know in the comments, I would love to hear from you. Hubby and I both ordered the Emile menu for 55 euros (at the time this review was written it was about $61) without the wine because we do not drink alcohol.
For starters, we were served bread with butter and ordered Pear, Chestnut, and Duck Pâté en croûte, Fig Marmalade. The bread and butter was your standard bread service, nothing impressive but still delish (duh we are in France). Now, the Pear, Chestnut, and Duck Pâté en croûte, Fig Marmalade was something interesting, to say the least. Let’s start with the positives, the Fig Marmalade was tasty…. sweet but not overly sugary. I could not taste the flavors of the Pear or Chestnut which was disappointing because Pear and Chestnuts sounded delectable. The Duck Pâté was not favorable. It tasted salty, and dry and the jelly texture was unpleasant, and it also left a weird aftertaste. I nor the hubby could finish eating it.
The main course was better than the starter course but average. The hubby ordered the Steak and fries and thought it was an average medium-cooked steak, the fries were okay nothing extraordinary. I had the Roast Chicken with Herbs, Potatoes with Garlic and Parsley. We both enjoyed the roasted potatoes over the chicken. It was cooked well not dry but also not super juicy. I was excited for the side of Ratatouille but it was not impressive. The whole grape tomato made no sense as it was raw not cooked like the Ratatouille was. The Ratatouille was overcooked vegetables and not leaving for wanting seconds.
For dessert hubby and I shared chocolate mousse. We both thought it was your basic chocolate mousse nothing fancy about it.
Conclusion:
Overall, we’re more impressed with the decor than the food. The food did not live up to the French or Disney cuisine. For the price you pay, it was not worth it. Would we go back? Maybe just for the atmosphere but not for the food.
